A.M.N. Conferred by The Yang Dipertuan Agong (King)
Today, I and 240 others were conferred the honorary titles at the National Palace by the
King in conjunction with His Highness Birthday on 3rd Jun 2006. I was given the title "Ahli Mangku Negara" in short A.M.N. (See the medal pinned on top of my left pocket). We were given certificates too. These titles are conferred by the king to those people who have contributed to the country. As for me, this means a medal for man but glory and honour for God Who was with me all these years while I was in the government service in the Meteorological Department of Malaysia. Without God, I would have walked out many times. He was my strength, my ever help, adviser and counselor.
On the right is a picture of the "singgahsana", the throne where the king and queen sit. During the ceremony he will rise and stand in front to give out the medals.
It was a ceremony steeped in culture and customs.
